What kind of performance can I expect from your APIs?

Almost all NASCO APIs respond in less than 1000ms.  Some respond much faster and a few may be slower depending on the complexity of the API.

How do I know if an API is available in Production?

Browse to Customer Journey of interest to see the list of APIs that are available.  APIs planned for future releases are tagged as "Coming Soon!".

How do I get details about an API?

Refer to an API Swagger to learn about 1) available resources, and operations on each resource, 2) request/response elements for each operation, and 3) error codes. You can also download the API Specification document to get more details about an API.
 

How can I call a NASCO API?

Please use the Contact Us page to reach out for test environment credential and connectivity details. We will contact you to schedule a call to discuss the test environment certificates and credential information needed to establish connectivity.

How do I know if an Event is available or planned for a future release?

Browse to Customer Journey of interest to see the list of Events that are available.  Events planned for future releases are tagged as "Coming Soon!".

How do I get details about an Event?

Events at NASCO have a JSON structure and their swaggers are available within the Customer Journeys.

How do I get access to use an Event?

If you discover an event you'd like to use, contact us to schedule a call to get started.   We can walk you through what you'll need on your side and set up your subscription when you're ready.  

You can download the event swagger to use as a guide as you establish your "event endpoint" for us to call with the event.   We can also customize your event payload if needed.   

What is the difference between an API and Event?

APIs support a request/response model, where you as a consumer make a request for data or make a request to take some action that generates a response. 

Events are unsolicited notifications, generated by our systems and delivered whenever something of business consequence happens.  You'll need to subscribe to an event to have it delivered to your designated endpoint.   That endpoint can be an API interface you expose or a message queue.  We're good either way.   If you see an event you can use, Contact us to learn more about subscribing to it.

What is the Consumer Key/Secret expiry policy?

It is every 6 months from the day of Key generation.

How do I obtain API credentials?

API Credentials (Consumer Key and Secret) are generated during the Add App process. Refer to "How do I create an App?" FAQ under the Get Started category to learn about App registration steps. Once your App is registered, click on your App link, and click "Show" links under the Credential section to obtain Consumer Key and Secret.
